The 990 Vibration Transmitter is intended primarily for the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of centrifugal air compressors or small pumps, motors, or fans who prefer to provide a simple 4 to 20 mA proportional vibration signal as
the input to their machinery control system.
The transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device that accepts input from our 3300 NSv proximity probe and its matching extension cable (available in 5m and 7m system length options).
The transmitter conditions the signal into appropriate peakto-peak vibration amplitude engineering units, and provides this value as a proportional 4 to 20 mA industry-standard signal as the input to the control system where machinery
protection alarming and logic occurs†.
The 990 transmitter provides the following notable features:
1.Integrated Proximitor Sensor requires no external unit
2.Non-isolated "PROX OUT" and "COM" terminals plus a coaxial connector to provide a dynamic vibration and gap voltage signal output for diagnostics‡.
3.Non-interacting zero and span potentiometers under the Transmitter label supports loop adjustment.
4.Test Input pin for quick verification of loop signal output, using a function generator as the input.
5.A Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit prevents high outputs or false alarms due to a faulty proximity probe or loose connection.
6. Choice of DIN-rail clips or bulkhead mounting screws as standard options simplifies mounting.
7. Potted construction for high humidity (up to 100% condensing) environments. Compatibility with 3300 NSv proximity probe allows transducer installation in small areas with minimal clearance, typical of centrifugal air compressors.

990: This is the series number, specifically referring to the 990 Series condition monitoring system. This is a very classic and widely used modular monitoring system that can be configured with various monitoring cards.
-04: This typically indicates the slot number of the module within the chassis or a specific hardware version. In the 990 framework, different slots correspond to different functions.
-XX: Here, "XX" is the key variable, representing the specific module type. Different codes correspond to different functional modules. For example:
TX: Likely a Power Supply module.
CI: Likely a Communication Interface module.
VM: Likely a Vibration Monitoring module.
RK: Likely a Relay module.
DI, DO: Digital Input / Digital Output modules.
"XX" is a placeholder; the exact function of the module cannot be determined without the specific code.
-01: This usually indicates the channel number or a sub-module identifier. For multi-channel monitoring modules, this number distinguishes between different channels.
-05: This likely denotes the firmware version, hardware revision, or a specific configuration code.
In summary:
Bentley Nevada 990-04-XX-01-05 refers to a specific functional module used in the Bentley Nevada 990 Series condition monitoring system.
