The Delixi CDM3 series, the most classic and best-selling miniature circuit breaker series in the Delixi Electric product line, holds a key position in the residential and commercial power distribution sector.

The following is a comprehensive introduction to the CDM3 series:

I. Core Positioning: Cost-Effective, National-Grade Circuit Breakers

The CDM3 series is a miniature circuit breaker designed for use in AC 50/60Hz circuits with a rated voltage up to 400V and a rated current up to 63A.

Core Functions:

Overload Protection: When the current in the circuit exceeds the rated current for a prolonged period, the circuit breaker will activate with a time delay to cut off the power supply, preventing damage from overheating.

Short-Circuit Protection: When a short circuit occurs, generating significant current, the circuit breaker will activate instantly (in milliseconds) to cut off the power supply.

Product Positioning: Economical, practical, and stable quality. This series boasts the largest market share and widest distribution channels in the Delixi product line, making it the preferred choice for many homes, businesses, and small and medium-sized engineering projects.

II. Main Features

Moderate Breaking Capacity: The rated ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity is typically 4.5kA or 6kA, sufficient to handle short-circuit faults in most residential and commercial applications.

Modular Design: Standard modular dimensions, with widths in multiples of 18mm, allow for easy installation on standard distribution box rails and can be combined with modular devices from the same series or other brands (such as residual current devices).

Safety:

The housing is made of flame-retardant PC material, which is heat-resistant and impact-resistant.

"Touch-Proof on Closure" Design: A protective wall around the handle effectively prevents fingers from accidentally touching live parts.

Reliable Wiring: Traditional screw-type crimping ensures secure and reliable wiring.

Long Electrical Life: High mechanical and electrical life and excellent durability.

III. Model Naming Conventions and Common Model Lists

Understanding the CDM3 naming convention will help you understand the meaning of most model numbers.

Model format: CDM3-63 [Curve] [Rated Current] [Number of Poles]

CDM3: Series code.

63: Frame size rated current. This indicates that the maximum circuit breaker specification for this series is 63A.

[Curve]: Tripping characteristic curve, which determines the current range for instantaneous tripping.

Curve C: The most commonly used. The instantaneous tripping current is 5-10 times the rated current. Suitable for conventional loads such as lighting and sockets, as well as devices with low starting current (such as computers and TVs). It is the preferred choice for home decoration.

Curve D: The instantaneous tripping current is 10-20 times the rated current. Suitable for inductive loads with high starting current, such as small motors, pumps, compressors, and air conditioners.

[Rated Current]: The maximum current that a circuit breaker can withstand over a long period of time. Common specifications include: 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 32A, 40A, 50A, and 63A.

[Number of Poles]: The number of poles on the circuit breaker.

1P: Single-pole, disconnects only the live wire. Width: 18mm.

1P+N: Single-pole + neutral, disconnects both the live and neutral wires simultaneously, but the neutral wire is usually unprotected. Width: also 18mm.

2P: Double-pole, disconnects both the live and neutral wires simultaneously, with protection on both poles. Width: 36mm.

3P: Three-pole, for three-phase power. Width: 54mm.

4P: Four-pole, for three-phase, four-wire systems. Width: 72mm.

Common Model List

Product Category Complete Model Example Description and Application

Single-Pole (1P) CDM3-63 C16 1P This is the most commonly used model, used for lighting circuits or individual outlet circuits.

CDM3-63 C10 1P This is used for low-power lighting circuits (such as light strips and downlights).

CDM3-63 C32 1P This is used for single circuits with slightly higher power.

Single-Pole + Neutral (1P+N) CDM3-63 C16 1P+N This is used when simultaneous neutral disconnection is required. This is safer than the 1P model and occupies the same space.

Two-Pole (2P) CDM3-63 C32 2P This is commonly used for main entrance switches, branch switches, or high-power appliances (such as cabinet air conditioners and instant electric water heaters).

CDM3-63 C16 2P This is used for single circuits requiring complete power isolation.

Three-Pole (3P) CDM3-63 D25 3P This is used to protect three-phase equipment such as three-phase motors. CDM3LE-32 C16 1P+N with leakage protection. This is a leakage circuit breaker. It integrates leakage protection (typically 30mA) with the CDM3. It's suitable for socket circuits in humid locations like kitchens and bathrooms.

IV. Home Selection Quick Guide

Main Switch: CDM3-63 C32/C40/C50 2P

Common Sockets (Living Room, Bedroom, Study): CDM3-63 C16 1P+N or CDM3LE-32 C16 1P+N (A type with a residual current circuit is strongly recommended)

Kitchen/Bathroom Sockets: CDM3LE-32 C20 1P+N (A type with a residual current circuit is required, and the current may be slightly higher due to the large number of electrical appliances)

Lighting Circuit: CDM3-63 C10/C16 1P

Wall-Mounted Air Conditioner: CDM3-63 C16/C20 1P+N or CDM3LE-32 C16 1P+N

Cubical Air Conditioner: CDM3-63 C20/C25 2P

V. Application Scenario Summary

Due to its exceptionally high cost-effectiveness and reliability, the CDM3 series is widely used in:

Indoor distribution boxes in residences, villas, and apartments.

Lighting distribution systems in office buildings, shopping malls, schools, and hotels.

Power distribution boxes in small workshops and factories.

Auxiliary circuit protection in various control cabinets and switchboards.
