The Delixi CDM3-63 C10 1P is a precisely positioned 10A, C-curve, single-pole miniature circuit breaker. It's ideal for overload and short-circuit protection of low-power circuits (especially lighting circuits) in confined spaces. Its value lies in providing matched, precise protection for delicate wiring and low-power devices, avoiding overkill and mismatched protection. It's a key component in sophisticated circuit design.

I. Overall Product Positioning

This is a single-pole miniature circuit breaker from Delixi's classic CDM3 series. Its core function is overload and short-circuit protection for the live (phase) line of a circuit. It features a low rated current (10A) and is designed specifically for low-power circuits.

II. Model Details

Each part of the model number CDM3-63 C10 1P identifies its key features:

1. Series: CDM3

This designation indicates it belongs to Delixi's CDM3 series. This series, with its high cost-effectiveness and reliability, has become a foundational and best-selling product in the low-voltage power distribution field.

2. Frame Rating Current: -63

This refers to the maximum current rating of the "frame" or "frame" to which this circuit breaker belongs, which is 63A. This C10 circuit breaker is manufactured within this 63A frame for low current.

3. Tripping Curve and Rated Current: C10

C: Tripping Characteristic Curve. The C curve is a universal curve with an instantaneous tripping current range of 5 to 10 times the rated current (i.e., 10A * 5 - 10 = 50A - 100A). This is suitable for most common distribution loads.

10: Rated Operating Current. This is the circuit breaker's most critical parameter, indicating its ability to safely carry a current of 10A for extended periods. When the current in the circuit exceeds 10A continuously, it will activate overload protection and trip with a time delay.

4. Number of Poles: 1P

1P stands for single pole. It controls and protects only one live wire (L).

When it trips, only the live wire is disconnected, leaving the neutral wire (N) connected.

Physically, it is very compact, typically occupying the width of one module (18mm) on a distribution rail.

III. Core Protection Functions

Overload Protection: When the current exceeds 10A for a prolonged period (for example, reaching 13-15A for a sustained period), the internal bimetallic strip bends due to thermal effects, triggering a tripping mechanism to protect delicate wiring and sensitive lighting fixtures/equipment from overheating.

Short-Circuit Protection: When a short circuit occurs in the circuit, the internal electromagnetic release instantly activates, immediately shutting off power.

IV. Typical Application Scenarios

With its relatively low 10A capacity, the CDM3-63 C10 1P circuit breaker is specifically designed to protect low-power circuits:

Indoor lighting main circuit: This is its most classic application. It protects the aggregate circuit for all lighting fixtures in a room. Due to the widespread use of LED lights today, the total power draw is very low, making a 10A capacity more than sufficient.

Specific low-power lighting circuits: These include circuits for dedicated light strips, downlights, decorative lights, and so on.

Weak-current device power circuits: These are dedicated circuits used to power devices like security cameras and smart home controllers.

Low-power socket circuits: These are used in specific areas, such as backup sockets used solely for charging mobile phones or powering desk lamps.

V. Selection and Installation Considerations

Circuit Compatibility: This circuit breaker is designed to protect 1.5mm² copper wire, the standard wire diameter for lighting circuits. If used to protect 2.5mm² socket circuits, it may not provide effective protection in the event of a line overload.

Power Calculation: At 220V, a C10 circuit breaker can support a maximum load of approximately 10A * 220V = 2200W. This is more than sufficient for a lighting system consisting of dozens of LED lights.

Safety Limitations: Because a 1P circuit breaker only disconnects the live wire, the neutral busbar remains energized during maintenance, posing a safety risk. For applications requiring complete isolation, a 1P+N circuit breaker can be considered.

No Leakage Protection: This model does not have leakage protection. Leakage protection is generally not required for lighting circuits.
