What is the +GF+ SIGNET P525-2S?

The P525-2S is a specific model within the Metalex 525 Series, designed for pipe sizes ranging from DN32 to DN300 (1¼ to 12 inches) . The "-2S" designation indicates a sensor configured for "weld-on mini-tap" fittings with a 316 Stainless Steel shaft and pin . Unlike powered flowmeters, this is a passive, self-generating device. It requires no external power; the flowing fluid spins the paddlewheel, which generates a sinusoidal frequency signal directly proportional to the flow velocity .

What sets the P525-2S apart is its ability to withstand extreme process conditions that would destroy ordinary flow sensors.

Extreme Pressure & Temperature: Built for high-pressure lines, it operates flawlessly at pressures up to 103 bar (1500 psi) when paired with the correct weld-on fittings . It handles process temperatures up to 149°C (300°F) , making it ideal for hot processes like boiler feedwater .

Superior Materials: The wetted materials are selected for durability and corrosion resistance. The housing is machined from solid 316L stainless steel, the paddlewheel is made from CB7Cu-1 alloy, and the "-2S" variant specifically features a 316 Stainless Steel shaft for excellent resistance in corrosive environments .

Intrinsically Safe Design: The sensor is passive and generates its own signal. It is FM Approved for use in hazardous locations (Class I, II, III; Division 1; Groups A-G) when used with appropriate safety barriers, allowing installation in explosive atmospheres .
