The Allen-Bradley 1771-OVN is a 10-30V DC-rated sink output module that is part of the 1771 Digital DC Output Modules. It features a total of 32 outputs grouped in four sets of eight. It can be used with local or remote processor systems. The 1771-OVN is compatible with the following 1771 I/O chassis – the 1771-A1B, -A2B, -A3B, -A3B1, -A4B, or later. It works by providing a path to the ground and thus it requires a source input for a positive voltage path. The 1771-OVN DC Sink Output’s logic circuitry is powered through the I/O chassis backplane. It draws a maximum current of 330mA from the power supply provided via the backplane. The 1771-OVN has a maximum on-state voltage drop of 1.5V DC at the rated output current. It has 8 A maximum continuous current per module. And it is ideal for positive voltage DC output signal termination applications. The 1771-OVN Module can be inserted into any chassis slot except the leftmost side –reserved only for adapters and processors. Be careful to place the keying bands in the correct key slots which are between pins 14 and 16, and between pins 32 and 34. Insertion into the wrong slot can lead to improper voltages and possible damage to the wiring arm and module. Do not place the 1771-IX Thermocouple Module in the same I/O chassis as the 1771-OVN. It is compatible only with the 1771-IXE.
