The 1747-ACN15’s health indicator is located on the adapter module’s front panel. It shows normal operating conditions and errors on the remote I/O system. The alphanumeric view (address/net status) in this module gives an indication of a status code if an error occurs during initialization or operation. The full description of the diagnostic indicator, the status display, and how to use them for troubleshooting are explained in the user manual. The 1747-ACN15 adapter module needs a maximum backplane current of 900 mA at 5V DC. Remember to add this quantity to the different flow necessities in your I/O chassis. You can attach your 1747-ACN15 adapter module to the ControlNet network through 4 available taps. Please do not permit steel elements from the tap to touch any conductive material. If you dispose of the tap from the adapter, do not forget to replace the dirt cap on the straight-angle or direct-line connectors. This is to prevent accidentally touching the surface of the steel-based soil.

To set the address of this ControlNet adapter module, the rotary switches are located on top of the module. When planning to connect the module to a personal computer via the NAP port, the 1786-CP cable may be used. On the computer side, a 1784-KTC or 1784-KTCx card may is required to establish communication. Additionally, the 1770-KFC external bridge may be used to communicate the computer without the need of the ControlNet communication card installed in the computer. The 1770-KFC directly connects to the NAP port of the module while the other port of the 1770-KFC is terminated to the computer’s serial or parallel interface.
