To install or replace the 1756-M23 module, the controller should be put on a flat surface with the label facing upwards. The side plate should then be removed. The existing memory board (if there is one) should then be removed from the controller. The new or replacement 1756-M23 module should be installed on the controller and the side plate should be re-installed.
