FISHER 289A relief Valves or Backpressure Regulators

289A: 1/4 NPT port size.

FISHER 289A belongs to the 289 series of pressure relief valves or back pressure regulators, which are described below:

Connection size: 1/4 NPT connection, which is more common, is convenient to connect with the corresponding size of pipeline or equipment.

Maximum Allowable Pressure Relief (Inlet) Pressure: 100psig/6.9bar, this parameter limits the maximum pressure that the valve can withstand at the inlet, when the system pressure exceeds this value, the valve will open for pressure relief to protect the system safety.

Pressure Relief Setting Pressure Range: Covering 5wc to 50psig (25mbar to 3.5bar), a wide range of pressure settings can be accommodated through different spring settings to suit different system pressure protection requirements.

Temperature range: -20 to 150°F (-29 to 66°C) with seals made of nitrile rubber (NBR) and chloroprene rubber (CR). Fluorocarbon (FKM) rubber is available only in Models 289H and 289HH; FKM options are not normally available for the 289A.

Approximate Weight: Approximately 0.75lb/0.3kg, overall light weight for easy installation and handling without placing excessive load stress on the mounting location.

CONSTRUCTION: Spring-loaded diaphragm type construction with large valve diaphragm area and high sensitivity for quick response to pressure changes, ideal for low pressure settings. Its smooth throttling operation minimizes pressure shocks in the system during pressure relief operation. However, this series of pressure relief valves is designed for pressure control and is not suitable for use as an ASME safety relief valve.
