FISHER 289U belongs to the 289 series of pressure relief valves or back pressure regulators, which are described below:
Connection Size: 1/4 NPT connection, which is common, allows for easy connection to the appropriate size piping or equipment.
Maximum Allowable Relief (Inlet) Pressure: 100 psig/6.9 bar, this parameter limits the maximum pressure that the valve can withstand at the inlet, when the system pressure exceeds this value, the valve will open for pressure relief operation to protect the system safety.
Pressure Relief Setting Pressure Range: Covering 5wc to 50 psig (25 mbar to 3.5 bar), a wide range of pressure settings can be accommodated through different spring settings to suit different system pressure protection requirements.
Pressure logging method: Internal logging, this design allows the valve to monitor and respond to pressure changes within the system in real time, deciding whether or not to open for pressure relief or back pressure adjustment based on the set pressure value.
Temperature capability: Temperature range is - 20 to 150°F (-29 to 66°C) with Nitrile (NBR) and Neoprene (CR) seals. For use in higher temperatures, Models 289H and 289HH are available with an optional fluorocarbon rubber (FKM) material for temperatures from 20 to 300°F (-7 to 149°C), but Model 289U is not normally available with an FKM option.
Weight: Approximately 0.75 lb/0.3 kg, a light overall weight that allows for easy installation and handling without placing undue load stress on the mounting location.
Features: Throttling type pressure relief function, through the smooth throttling operation, can minimize the pressure shock in the system during the pressure relief process; at the same time, it has the characteristics of large flow, small size, simple structure, high reliability, and compact design, which can meet the needs of larger flow rate of pressure relief, and can effectively protect the system safety, and save the installation space for the places with limited space.
