Cummins SX440 is an automatic voltage regulator (AVR), mainly used for self-excited brushless generators. The following is its related introduction:

Functional features

Voltage regulation: By controlling the low-power exciter magnetic field, adjusting the rectified output power of the exciter armature, thereby controlling the main machine magnetic field current, stabilizing the output voltage of the brushless generator, and the voltage adjustment rate is ≤0.5%.

Low frequency protection: Built-in frequency protection circuit, when the engine speed drops, the output voltage drops accordingly, which can prevent excessive excitation current from damaging the magnetic field stator coil.

Parallel compensation function: With parallel compensation function, it can be connected to the parallel unit dedicated power factor controller LSM206, and can be connected to the current transformer for power factor adjustment to meet the customer's capacity expansion needs.

Installation and use precautions

The installation, connection, and inspection of the regulator must be carried out by professionals. The regulator should be installed in a moisture-proof, corrosion-resistant position in the generator that is not easily touched by others. During normal operation, the surface temperature of the regulator may exceed 60℃. Do not touch the regulator during operation. A warning sign has been posted on its radiator.
