ABB MWD-04 is ABB's new generation of silicone rubber insulated gapless metal oxide arresters. It uses metal zinc oxide resistors as core components and has excellent nonlinear volt-ampere characteristics. Under normal operating voltage, the arrester presents high resistance, and only microampere current passes through; when overvoltage occurs, the resistance drops rapidly, and it can instantly conduct and release overvoltage energy, limiting the residual voltage within the range that the equipment can withstand, effectively protecting electrical equipment.
Rated voltage: 4kV.
Maximum operating voltage: 5kV.
Nominal discharge current: 10kA, can withstand large lightning or operating overvoltage impact current.
Square wave tolerance: 550A, with certain energy absorption and tolerance capabilities.
Conditions of use:
Altitude: less than 1800m.
Outdoor ambient temperature: -60℃ to +45℃.
It can also adapt to certain environmental conditions such as ice thickness, wind speed, relative humidity, etc., and has the ability to resist earthquake cracking of 9 degrees, and the applicable frequency range is 16 (2/3)-62Hz.
Application scenario: Mainly used for overvoltage protection of indoor cabinet equipment such as power grid system switch cabinets, suitable for AC systems, and can protect electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, cables, etc. from damage by lightning overvoltage and operating overvoltage.
MWD-03: It is also a model in the MWD series, suitable for certain voltage levels and application scenarios.
MWD-06: Commonly used for overvoltage protection of medium and high voltage systems.
MWD-08: The commonly used voltage level is 6kV.
MWD-15: The voltage level is 10kV.
In addition, there are different types of lightning arresters such as MWK type and POLIM-I type that are suitable for other voltage levels and application requirements. For example, MWK-44 is commonly used for 35kV voltage level, and POLIM-I84 is commonly used for 110kV voltage level.
