ABB Surge arrester MWD series oxide arrester

ABB Surge arresters with metal oxide resistors without spark gaps (MO surge arresters), direct molded silicone housing, grey color, designed and tested according to IEC 60099-4.

The thermal stability of the MO surge arrester is proved in the operating duty test according to LD 2, which gives an energy input of 5.5 kJ/kV (Uc).

ABB MWD series arrester is a silicone rubber insulated gapless metal oxide arrester with voltage levels between 4-110KV. It has a variety of models and can be applied to systems with different voltage levels.

The MWD series is a silicone-rubber-insulated, gap-less metal-oxide surge arrester. It uses metal-oxide (MO) resistors as the core component, and the silicone-rubber housing directly molds the resistors without spark gaps. This structure not only has excellent protection characteristics but also improves the reliability and safety of operation.

Commonly seen models in the MWD series include MWD-03, MWD-04, MWD-05, MWD-08，MWD-15 etc. The following are the models corresponding to different voltage levels:
