Woodward UG series mechanical hydraulic governors controlling diesel

Woodward UG series are mechanical hydraulic governors for controlling diesel, gas or dual fuel engines, or steam turbines. Here is a brief introduction:

Working principle: UG series governors have their own self-sufficient oil source, driven by the appropriate UG drive of the engine or turbine. Through the mechanical hydraulic system, the fuel supply or steam flow of the engine is automatically adjusted according to the operating status and load changes of the engine to keep the engine speed stable.

Operation mode: It can run at constant speed or in droop mode. When running at constant speed, the governor keeps the engine speed constant; in droop mode, the engine speed will decrease to a certain extent as the load changes to achieve a reasonable distribution of the load.

Main models: including UG-8 and UG-40, etc. UG-8 governors are commonly referred to as "UG-8" and are available in different sizes such as UG-5.7/8/10. They can be used for constant speed applications or variable speed control. They are available in UG dial or UG lever configurations. UG dial governors are particularly suitable for constant speed applications, while UG lever governors are widely used for variable speed control. UG-40 governors are used for speed or load control of larger dual-fuel, diesel or gas engines or steam turbines. The governor drive speed is 350 to 1050 rpm or 550 to 1300 rpm.

Application areas: Suitable for generators, pumps, marine propulsion and other applications. In generator control, it can ensure the stable operation of the generator set; in pump station applications, it can control the speed of the pump to adapt to different working conditions and requirements; in marine propulsion systems, it can ensure the stable and efficient operation of the ship's power system.

UG-8: Commonly referred to as "UG-8", including different specifications such as UG-5.7/8/10, can be used for constant speed applications or variable speed control, with UG dial or UG lever configuration, UG dial governor is particularly suitable for constant speed applications, UG lever governor is widely used for variable speed control.

UG-8L: It is a mechanical hydraulic governor suitable for controlling diesel, gas or dual fuel engines or steam turbines.

UG-10D: With 24Vdc power input, it is a steam turbine digital governor with 2 standard position independent RS-232 and RS-422 serial ports, suitable for aircraft turbines, which can provide load sharing and speed control for diesel or gas engine driven generators.

UG-40: For speed or load control of larger dual fuel, diesel or gas engines or steam turbines, governor drive speeds from 350 to 1050 rpm or 550 to 1300 rpm.
